The Town

There are very few ways
To pass by all the days
And in my boring town
Very loud music plays
'Cause all us kids are down
Adults think we're lazy
'Cause we just hang around
And everyone's crazy
So no one ever stays

The Turn of the Century

Excitement enveloped the world on the first night
Brilliant ligts, and flaming fireworks in flight
Everywhere else, but where I stood
Solitude reigned, for me it was right.
Skating on frozen water, near the wood
My skates scraped the glistening ice in tune
I alone thought it did my soul some good
Under the shadow of the hovering moon
The rest of the world came via satellite

Haunting

Sweet as an orange, yet sour as a lime
I know but can't make myself see
Relentlessly haunted by the nefarious mime
I can't help but wonder if someday I'll be free

How Long?

I walk outside
You're standing in the rain
Our eyes collide
We both know I'm to blame
You see me cry
I feel like Judas for a while
In absolution
I'm feeling so tired
Bygones by
You took away the blame
But still this humanity haunts me
There are days when I feel ashamed
How long until everything is new?
How long until our bodies are renewed?
How long until we see you face to face?
How long until we reach that perfect place?
