"News you can trust, from someone you shouldn't"

June 12, 2000

The Baptist church has now announced that they are officially against Gays.  Why?  They say it is a sin.  Sure, refusing to allow people into church is probably a sin too, but they are going to overlook that one.  But why stop with Gays?  They are not the only ones who sin.  Lets target gluttons next!  Yes, anyone who is a glutton is no longer accepted by the Baptist church.  But that's not enough!  Anyone who performs any sin should no longer be allowed into the Baptist church.  It will cut down the membership by a whole lot, but to quote one Baptist who was asked about this, "We are not a popularity contest".  You sure aren't.  Maybe I am wrong, but shouldn't church be for those who do sin?  Wasn't that one of the teachings of Jesus?

In side news, the Baptist church has also declared that woman should not be ministers.  Wait a minute!  Are you sure the Baptist church is protestant and not Catholic?  They sure seem to be following Catholic trends here.

{Eumenides note:  About 80% of my friends are Baptist.}
